ehh that's confusing;
Your metabolism doesn't follow any kind of linear graph... It goes up, and down, and up and down... When your workout (with weights for example), you can boost your metabolism up, because your body needs to start converting various food items you ate, or stored into energy.
What's important is the Basal metabolic rate (BMR), which is your metabolisms rate of working (maybe there's a better word for it), when your not doing anything. As you workout, over time your BMR increases, which means your burning more calories when your doing nothing. When your stop your workouts, and become a couch potato your BMR decreases...
So keep active!
